What Do *You* Think It Means?

I got an email from someone tonight that contained nothing but the letters EOM in the subject line. Nothing in the body at all. Assuming, nay, knowing this person doesn not particularly like me, would I be safe to assume this is some sort of dig that is just flying over my head?

Curious...

On the interwebs, EOM generally means End Of Message. If it was purposely sent as the only text in an email, it could mean they have nothing to say.

BUT... I wonder if it was some sort of spam or viral thing where something was sent to them that highjacked their address book.

Dunno. It *is* curious though.

yeah, why bother to take the time to write EOM in the subject line if you really have nothing to say.

it's like that time my ex called to tell me he wasn't going to call. uh... sure... ok.

either it was sent by mistake, or someone needs some attention.

also... if someone starts writing a message and then accidentally hits "send" the email client may automatically add "EOM" in the subject. According to Mudge, at least.

I'd say it was a mistake.

Yeah, as this person managed to include both my current and last email addresses in the address list, I'm going to have to believe they really were trying to contact me. They may have accidentally deleted something else from the subject or body, though. Just wondering if I was missing something new that the kids are using these days.

You could write back with WTF in the subject and see what happens...
